Renting a scooter, motorbike or moped in Playa del Carmen with us is very easy. Follow these steps to get started:

We can deliver the scooter to a convenient location for you, or you can visit us in Playa del Carmen after pre-reserving a scooter. You can pay a deposit and the rental fee in cash (MXN, USD, EUR, CAD, GBP), by card, PayPal, Revolut or Wise. To avoid usually high transfer and conversion fees, we recommend paying the deposit and rental fee in cash or via Wise. We'll record the scooter's condition with photos/videos. - Always Wear a Helmet: All riders and passengers must wear helmets while riding scooters, mopeds, or motorbikes.
- No Riding Under Influence: Never ride the scooter, moped or motorbike under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
- Carry Your Driver's License: Always have your original, valid driver’s license with you while riding.
- Practice Safe Riding: If you are unsure of your riding skills, do not ride on busy roads until you feel confident. Practice in a quiet and safe area. You can also ask our staff for a lesson when you receive the scooter.
- Report Issues Immediately: If you experience any malfunctions or suspect any issues with the scooter, report them to us immediately.
- Full Tank Policy: You receive the scooter with a full tank and should return it with a full tank.
- Return in Same Condition: Please return the moped and equipment in the same condition you received them.
- Extend Rental in Advance: If you wish to extend the scooter rental period, please arrange this with us in advance, as the moped may be reserved for the following dates.
- Early Return Notification: If you decide to return the motorbike early, please notify us at least 2 hours in advance during business hours or 48 hours in advance if you want a refund.
- Opening Hours: 9 AM - 7 PM. Please make sure to plan your return accordingly.
- Responsibility: We are not liable for the choice of scooter, moped or motorbike model (size, comfort, etc.), misuse (speed, load, fuel, etc.), traffic violations, accidents (collisions, flat tires, etc.), natural disasters (wind, hurricanes, rain, etc.), or any expenses resulting from the above situations. Exceptions apply if covered by the selected insurance plan.
By taking possession of the scooter, the renter agrees to these rules and confirms that it was received in good working condition, including properly inflated tires, functioning lights, and successful engine startup.
- What is the minimum age to rent? The minimum age to rent a scooter, moped, or motorbike is 18 years.
- What documents are needed to rent a moped? Only a valid driver’s license is required. We simply ask for a photo; the original stays with you.
- Where can I find all the necessary documents for the scooter? The documents for the rented moped are in the trunk, under the seat.
- Do I need a driver’s license to operate? Yes, a valid driver’s license is required to rent and operate a scooter, moped, or motorbike.
- Is my national driver’s license valid? Yes, your national driver’s license is valid for renting and operating a scooter, moped, or motorbike.
- Is an international license required? No, it is not required. However, if you have an international driver’s license, it is also valid.
- Can I drive a scooter or moped with a car license? In most cases, a car driver’s license includes small motorbikes, scooters, and mopeds. The main thing is that you have driving experience, and it is safe.
- Do you offer insurance for scooters? Yes, the rental cost includes basic insurance. You can also expand the insurance coverage for an additional fee. For more details, please ask us via WhatsApp.
- What does the insurance cover? Coverage depends on the insurance plan you choose. For details, please ask us via WhatsApp.
- Does the insurance cover if I was under the influence while riding? No, if you were under the influence while riding, the insurance coverage does not apply in this case.
- Do I need to leave a deposit? If you choose full insurance coverage, a deposit is not required. Otherwise, a deposit is necessary.
- How much is the deposit for a scooter? The deposit amount depends on the model rented.
- Why is a deposit needed? The deposit serves as our guarantee that the scooter, moped, or motorbike will be returned, and we will receive compensation if the rental rules are violated. We may also use your deposit if you decide to extend the rental for a short period.
- In what cases can the deposit be withheld or partially refunded? The deposit can be fully or partially withheld if the scooter is damaged while in your possession or stolen, and these cases are not covered by your insurance plan. The amount depends on the extent of the damage, insurance coverage, and so on. The deposit may also be partially withheld if you are late returning the moped without prior notification (at least 90 minutes) for more than 30 minutes; if a false courier call was made at your request, you lost the scooter key, helmet, or other equipment, or returned the scooter with an empty tank, and so on.
- Do you offer discounts and special offers for scooter rental? Yes, of course. The discount amount depends on the rental period. The longer the rental, the bigger the discount. We also periodically have special offers for certain moped models. For more details, please ask us via WhatsApp.
- Can I extend the scooter rental? Yes, if your moped is not booked for the following dates and times. If you decide to extend the rental, please inform us at least 2 hours before your rental period ends and during our business hours (9 AM to 7 PM).
- Can I return the scooter earlier and get a refund for unused days? Yes, we always refund money for unused days. But there are a few details. You must let us know at least 2 days (48 hours) in advance, as we are disabling the scooter from availability for other customers. Also, the cost will be recalculated according to the base rate. We often make special offers based on the initial data received from you. But if this data changes (for example, the rental period or the location where you want us to pick up the scooter at the end of the rental), we reserve the right to change our price offer.
- Can I replace the rented moped with another one? Yes, of course, this is possible if another motorbike is available on your dates. If you have not yet received the scooter, the replacement is free, but the rental cost for different models may vary. If you have already received the scooter, the replacement at the client’s request is chargeable (depending on location), as we incur costs for washing, technical inspection, and staff time.
- Are there any additional fees or charges I should be aware of? We do not charge any additional fees. The exceptions are when you pay for our services via PayPal or bank cards (in this case, we ask you to add 6% to the amount), or violate the rental rules. There are also common fees for currency conversion and bank transfers, but you should check this information with your bank.
- Can I cancel my booking? Yes, of course. It’s free. If you booked a scooter in advance and your plans have changed, we ask you to inform us immediately. If the courier has already arrived at your location and you decide not to rent, we ask you to pay the delivery cost to cover our expenses.
- Can I rent a moped for a long-term period? Yes, of course. Moreover, long-term rentals are the most cost-effective.
- Why is the price higher for a one-day rental? A one-day rental costs more for several reasons: Logistics and preparation: Preparing each motorbike requires the same effort regardless of the rental length, including checks, refueling, and delivery. Economic efficiency: Longer rentals help us spread resources and costs more effectively. Short-term rentals concentrate these costs into one day, raising the price. Availability guarantee: Reserving a scooter for a single day often means turning down potential longer rentals, impacting the price. If you decide to extend your rental, the one-day surcharge won’t apply 😊
- Can I return the motorbike to a different location from where I picked it up? Yes, but please notify us at least 2 hours in advance during business hours.
- Can I return the scooter in a different city? Yes, you can return the scooter in any of these cities: Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Cancun, Akumal, Puerto Morelos, or Puerto Aventuras.
- What happens if the moped is damaged or stolen? The amount of compensation for our expenses depends on the case and the insurance coverage plan you selected.
- What happens if I do not return the scooter? We will have to contact the police with your details, as well as the insurance company, as this situation is very similar to theft.
- How will you determine if I damaged the motorbike or the previous renter did? We will take photos and videos of the scooter before renting it to you. You can do the same. If the moped is damaged in any way upon return, it will be evident in the preliminary photos or videos.
- How and where to park the scooter? Usually, parking a rented motorbike is not problematic. In Playa del Carmen, you can park the scooter at your hotel parking lot or nearby where you see other parked mopeds. Also, in cities and on beaches, there are designated free parking zones marked in blue. Note the parking on Tulum beaches - there are active tow trucks, always use paid parking, which is usually inexpensive (about 20-50 pesos per day). This will save you significant time and cost.
- How to use the scooter? Scooters, mopeds, and small motorbikes are among the easiest types of transportation to use. However, there are a few simple procedures you need to follow. When you are about to ride the scooter after a long stop, simply start it and let it idle for a few minutes. This allows the oil in the engine and transmission to reach the proper pressure and lubricate all the engine and transmission parts. This will make your ride safer and smoother.
- Can I ride the moped if I have little riding experience? If you are unsure of your riding skills, do not ride on busy roads until you feel confident. Practice in a quiet and safe area. You can also ask our staff for a lesson when you receive the scooter.
- Do I need to wear a helmet while riding the scooter? Yes, it is mandatory for you and your passenger. First of all, it’s about safety, and riding without a helmet in Mexico is illegal.
- What is the engine capacity of your scooters anв motorbikes? What is the maximum speed? We have models with 125cc, 150cc, 155cc, and 175cc. Scooters reach speeds of about 70-130 km/h, depending on the model and passenger weight. This is usually more than enough for comfortable city travel and short highway trips.
- What fuel should I use for the scooter? Scooters, mopeds, and motorbikes need to be refueled with gasoline. We recommend using “Premium”; in extreme cases, “Magna” or “Regular” is acceptable.
- Is fuel included in the rental cost? Do I need to return the scooter with a full tank? For your convenience, we always give you the motorbike with a full tank of fuel. However, fuel is not included in the rental cost. Before returning the moped, we ask you to stop at a gas station and return it with a full tank. Alternatively, you can pay the courier 150 pesos (regardless of how empty the tank is), and they will refuel the scooter for you.
- Can I ride the scooter on the highway? Yes, no problem. But there are a few details. Remember, scooters and mopeds are city vehicles and are a bit slower than the traffic flow on highways, so keep to the far right in the right lane and use overtakes only when necessary, so as not to interfere with cars. Be attentive, and everything will be fine. We also strongly discourage riding on highways at night. The headlights and taillights on scooters are quite weak, other vehicles may not see you, and you will have poor visibility of the road.
- How far can I travel on a scooter? Is it safe to ride to places like Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Cancun, Puerto Morelos, Chichen Itza, etc.? Scooters, mopeds, and small motorbikes are city vehicles and are not designed for comfortable and long trips on highways. We do not restrict your travels, but there are a few details. You can safely travel between cities along the coast (Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Cancun). A full tank of gasoline lasts for about 60-70 km on the highway, which is quite short, so always monitor your fuel level. If you decide to go far (e.g., to the pyramids of Chichen Itza or another state) and something happens, we won’t be able to help you quickly, and our help will be chargeable.
- Is it safe to ride a scooter? Yes, riding a moped is safe and convenient. Follow traffic rules, be attentive on the road, and everything will be fine.
- Are there areas I should avoid while riding? Mexico is generally quite safe. There are a few recommendations: avoid riding at night or in dark areas, especially in non-tourist areas.
- Can I ride a moped on the beach? No, it is illegal. Moreover, the sand is very loose, making riding extremely difficult (unlike, for example, Indian beaches).
- Is it safe to ride at night? We do not recommend riding a scooter at night, especially in non-tourist areas. At night, corruption and crime rates increase, and the headlights on mopeds are too weak to properly illuminate the road.
- Can I ride a scooter during the rain? Rains in Mexico are usually short-term. We recommend stopping and waiting until the rain stops. In any case, be very careful, as wet roads become very slippery. Be cautious with the throttle and braking, as this can lead to falls.
- Is mileage limited for scooter rentals? No, mileage is unlimited, so you can explore Playa del Carmen and surrounding areas freely. The exceptions are special conditions for long-term rentals, which are agreed upon in advance.
- What should I do if the motorbike breaks down? You should contact us immediately and explain what is happening. Often, this can be resolved by pressing a button that has been overlooked or by properly turning the ignition key. We check the condition of the scooters before each rental and regularly perform technical maintenance, but due to the humid climate and operating conditions (dust, vibrations, etc.), unforeseen breakdowns rarely occur but still happen occasionally. Therefore, in any case, inform us of what is happening so that we can provide further instructions, send a replacement scooter, or a mechanic.
- What should I do if I get a flat tire on the scooter?If you get a flat tire, you need to stop and not continue driving. You cannot ride with a flat tire, as it is dangerous and can lead to a fall or damage the wheel rim or other parts of the moped. Please inform us of the situation and share your location. We will then provide possible solutions.
- What should I do if I am stopped by the police while riding? In Playa del Carmen, the police rarely stop tourists, but if you are stopped, you should know that cases of corruption are common and be prepared for this. Stay calm, show all necessary documents, including your driver’s license, and explain that you are riding a rented motorbike and everything is fine. If you have violated something and they do not want to let you off with a warning, we recommend paying the fine immediately. The fine amount depends on the violation, but on average, it can be around 500-1000 Mexican pesos.
